Violet & Gladys Willder describe grandfather's cousin Wiliam as marrying a widow with four children, then the daughter of a doctor from Southport.
Helen appears to be that 'daughter of a doctor'. She was widowed early.
Andrew of Glasgow says: 'My grandmother Helen Bearn was widowed in 1927 with 3 young children (6,6 and 5 all born at Plardewick Manor). She was looked after by her father James Bearn who had moved south to Manchester to work for a chemical manufacturer. The Bearns originated from Brechin, Angus.'
