Purchased property in St. Mary's Gate & King Street, Derby in 1757. Noted as Maltster in Derby, 1758. Ray once had another Richard as this man's father, but latterly has the father Richard removed. The extra Richard was to make up the dates. Ray believes that Richard really was old and late having children, or maybe married twice. The children may have two different mothers.
