The extra Richard was to make up the dates. Ray believes that Richard really was old and late having children, or maybe married twice. The children may have two different mothers.

The wife & family here attributed to Samuel 1/134 [P17] are more properly attributed to Samuel [P879]. However it seems likely that these are one and the same as nothing whatsoever is known about Samuel 1/134. Could it be that it was he that married Mary Chater and moved to Worcestershire? The offspring here are Ray's 12/ tree now shown bolted into the 1/ tree.
It's worth re-reading father's and brother's wills (refs 36 & 38).
